Course Details

Course Name: Alford Holes: 18 Yardage: 5483 SSS: 65
This attractive parkland course lies in the heart of Donside which is as scenic as its royal neighbour, Deeside. Although surrounded by hills with uninterrupted views of Bennachie, the course is flat and golfers of all ages and ability will enjoy the easy walking,. Whilst relatively short it is deceptive and the SSS of 65 is a challenge to all. The course was originally opened in 1982 as 9 holes and extended to 18 in 1992. Play is through a mixture of young and mature trees with burns and a narrow-gauge railway awaiting the errant shot.

  • A Great Day Out

Played a 36 hole outing and it was a real treat. Relatively short so not a test of stamina but accuracy is needed of the tee at every hole, especially the 16th with bunkers and TWO burns to negotiate.
Staff could not have been nicer to us and we felt very welcom. Will definitely be back again

Ideal for outings of any competence. Greens are of the highest quality, course in general is very well presented. 16th probably the one you'll remember ! Locals are friendly and enjoy other golfers stories !

I run the golf section for c.j.lang wholesale ltd. Aberdeen and i arranged in year 2000 a golf outing
At alford golf club .To say the least all 21 golfers were of the same opinion , the day was excellent , the course in top class condition , everything about alford golf club gave everyone good memories to take away and that is very important .
Although a young course , it gives the impression that it has been there forever as the course blends in with the beautiful surrounding area , hills , river and of course in close proximity haughton house country park .
This year 2002 i decided that alford would be our choice for the c.j.lang golf outing and so we will be returning there on sunday 26th may knowing that we will find an overwhelming welcome from the friendly staff and more important find a golf course which in my mind is on a level par with other older courses ( maybe nearer the large cities + towns ) but for anyone i.e. anyone looking for an enjoyable day on a challenging , well groomed , excellent , cared for golf course i advise that they visit alford golf course.' We are nae awa tae bide awa we'll aye come back and see ya' , we will always return to alford.
