Ah, the pleasures of a five and a half hour round of golf on a Sunday afternoon at Allerton.
Watch out for the "Conductor" a lunatic of a man that scurries around the course hitting everyones ball but his own.
On the plus side one of the group never fails to hurl a club into the trees after a bad shot. I've almost got a full set now. If only he'd mess up with his seven iron.

hope to be playing again soon so you might just get that seven iron this season

You have to be pretty desperate for a game to want to play the Allerton 18-hole. It's very short, very busy and there's no supervision on the course. I had my pitching wedge stolen by a group of youths who had obviously just walked on without paying. The greens were more bare earth than grass. It would have been cheaper to have forked out £25 and played at the excellent Woolton course nearby.

I play this course on a regular basis with my uncle and a friend of ours. It's quite a short course with lots of features and every conceivable lie to test each golfer. I would recommend it to anyone who happens to be passing through to give it a try.
The only thing it doesn't have to offer is a par 5. But this does not take anything away from an' enjoyable round of golf.

A good parkland municipal course. The fairways although lined with mature trees >are reasonably forgiving with little rough. The par 3 8th is a nice feature >hole with a postage stamp green guarded by bunkers and atop a deep ravine. The course does get very busy.

I have been a junior member of Allerton Municipal G.C. for two and a half seasons and have enjoyed playing it. However, the course I think is over used as it is known to be one of the most used golf courses in Europe. Allerton has also a 9-hole course which is great for younger generation of golfers as well as new golfers just starting.
