A deceptivly tricky course, very long par 5 and 9th hole requiring very good approach play. Would play again, only drawback being the obvious 9 holes missing

Hello My name is John Corcoran and I am Hon. Secretary of Ballaghaderreen Golf Club. We have changed some of the holes .The old 8th is now the first and the great par 3 is now the 5th. Oh well come and play it and you will see what I mean.

Europe Golf courses reviews John O' Sullivan - 7/98

This is a mature and relatively flat course. It is not a difficult or demanding track, except if like me you have a tendancy to slice !, when the tight out of bounds on the 3rd, 5th and 9th comes into play.
The second hole is particularly difficult to hit, being a long Par 3 with a very small wee bunkered green.
The eight and ninth bring a disused quarry into play.
The ninth in particular requires a long drive to permit a second shot over the quarry to the green.
The people at the club are very friendly and I was there on a Saturday in April and had the course to myself..I was the only one there ! Play it for the solitude !
