Played at Balmore as a visitor. It's in a very attractive spot, some way off the beaten track. The course itself is also attractive, and the renovation programme that's mentioned on the club website has given the course excellent greens, which putted well, even after a recent very wet period.
There are one or two weak holes which don't particularly stick in the memory, and as one reviewer mentioned, the two holes which cross (12 and 10) lead to a bit of apprehension, as the drive from the 12th tee is blind. Still, on the whole, the course is very enjoyable to play and a good test, if not super difficult.
Despite the friendly reception from the pro, I'm not too sure about the friendliness of some of the members - I was stuck, as a single player, behind a 5-ball (!) for 4 torturous holes before they walked in. Other members didn't even acknowledge me as they walked past me on the course. Not a good sign, but my visit to the course was still very enjoyable.

I am currently on the waiting list at Balmore Golf Club. My friend and his brother are members and I have played at the club several times. I must say, I am impressed. For a club which nobody really knows about, it has 18 fantastic holes. Although it is quite hilly, it is a great course and never too busy.
The club's clubhouse contains a restaurant and bar where lively entertainment is enjoyed most nights of the week. At a reasonable price I would definitely recomend this club to anyone - beginner or expert.

I'm a member of Balmore the course is quite amazing. All the holes are alike in three way that they are all good, challenging and fun to play on. This course is good for most types of player, young or old - everyone will enjoy it.
The new 18th green is very good, it is right outside the pub at the clubhouse, so everyone can watch you putt on you're last hole.
The course is fabulous, with some very tricky holes. Anyone that has played on this course say the same it's absolutely amazing.

Absolutely fantastic golf course here - extremely challenging for beginners and experts alike! You need to hit the ball high over historic walls on two holes, and judge driving distances on a few more. I didn't like two holes which 'crossed' each other, thought it a bit dangerous, but it did not spoil the day and luckily the weather mimicked the golf course - fabulous!
