To begin I am a member of Bandon so I'm bias. But I play there once a week and really enjoy it. I put pen to paper here, because major changes are taking place in Bandon at the moment, work is nearly completed. Eventhough it a beautiful course, the new holes will make it extremely challenging. If you have played it before, give it another rattle over the summer, you won't regret it.

I along with 15 others from our golf society called the B.M.O.T had the pleasure to play this course as the final round in our annual 72 hole European Golf Championship.
When I first looked up 'Bandon' I was a bit put off by how short the course was and was also a bit sceptical as to whether this course would be a challenge for me and my golfing friends, how wrong I was. This course turned out to be the jewel in our week of golf, not long granted but better greens had not be seen all week and we had also played the likes of Kinsale, Water Rock, and Lee Valley to name but a few. But 'Bandon" along with the help of the assistant professional there Ian gave us a superb days golf and laughter at the 19th hole.
I would recommend that any wishing to experience this beautiful course do so asap as they have plans to make it better, so try it now and again when all the work is complete, then you have the best of both worlds.
This is a course that is back on my itinerary for next year, well done to all at 'Bandon' Golf Club.

Situated on the Bandon river valley means the golfer gets a variety of shots with the ball both below and above the players feet at different stages. My favourite holes - 10th a shortish dog-leg , a long hitter can cut the corner leaving a chip to a green which is difficult to hold. 14th index 1, long par 4 with out-of-bounds all down the right hand side, second shot needs to clear the dreaded corn-field!!!

A good course, well maintained with excellent greens. 11th is a real test of driving and the 18th a long par 3 downhill to the club house with its big bay windows can be intimidating. Miss it left or right and you have a very tricky chip over bunkers with the gallery in the clubhouse standing at the windows. Enjoy it.
