Belfairs is a nice course but the fairways are pony! It is a public course therefore people are walking dogs whilst you play, and can get noisey because children are playing in parks near by.

Belfairs is a great course set within scenic woods. The back nine will test your ability to stay straight so if you cant then take a few spare balls with you.

A course that all golfers will enjoy. Not the supreme test of ability but certainly interesting. The front nine are relatively open but the back nine holes are carved through the Belfairs woods.
For a public course, it's in excellent condition and recent improvements by the council - repairing bunkers and improving drainage - can only make it better. It's advisable to ring the starter's hut for a booking time. If you're ever in the Southend area, pay a visit to this course. You won't regret it.

I am regular visitor to Belfairs and am surprised the only message it has on here is from 1998.So here is an update the course is still one of the best looking places to play golf and the back nine once your in the tree lined fairways is a test to any golfer who is not straight so if you think you can keep your driver straight for the 480 yard 18 give it a go but do ring and get a tee time or you will disappointed
