I am a high handicapper and Betchworth Park presents a real challenge along with some stunning views of the North Downs and Box Hill. The course has quite a number of blind tees which makes for some trudging through quite demanding rough! The greens are very fast and well maintained.
On the front nine the best holes on the course are the 3rd (two good shots to a partially blind green, the 4th, a fantastic tee position with glorious views and 150 yards clearance downhill over gorse bushes. The 7th is a tight challenging Par 3 and the 8th has a green which I 3 putted from 6 feet. That's why my handicap is so high!!
On the back nine the 11th is a challenging Par 5 with a narrow fairway and a blind drive and the 13th a long Par 3 (195 yards) where a bogey is always acceptable. The 17th and 18th are long holes which are a fitting end to a very enjoyable golf course. A twighlight green fee means that you can play for 15 on weekdays after 4pm.
