Formed in 1931 as a Municipal course under hospices of Bingley Urban Council developed from a nine hole layout, to today's 18 hole championship test, ranking amongst the best in Yorkshire. Dr Alister Mackenzie and his brother were amongst those involved in the early layout.

The club was privatised in 1990, agreeing a long-term lease with Bradford Metropolitan Council. Since then a new Clubhouse has been built and improvements made to the majority of holes by new tees, bunkers etc and conservation work undertaken to preserve heather and flora species. Mark James, Ryder Cup Captain opened the clubhouse in 1994.

New Clubhouse, tastefully furnished, snooker room, cafeteria serving quality food in beautiful setting.

Played the course in a competition along with a couple of members and thoroughly enjoyed it.
A mixture of styles, from wide open parkland to tight moorland and heathland fairways - each section offers a unique challenge and rewards different types of shots. There's no getting into a 'bang it with a driver on every hole' rhythm here!
The first few holes are nothing too spectacular, but from the 4th on the course comes into its own. There are a few stand-out holes - particularly the 8th and 11th, and the last hole is a real test (one which I abysmally failed, admittedly!) - remember to take enough club, and miss the tree!
The clubhouse hosts a fantastic collection of memorabilia courtesy of local member (and world renowned caddie) Billy Foster, and I had the fortune to be given a tour of it after the round - it really topped the day off.
I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys a challenge, as it offers a variety of holes that very few courses offer. Top class.

A tremendous golf course which produces holes on a mixture of moorland, parkland and heathland. The course leads the golfer through his round like a good novel leads the reader through its book. The bunkering here is second to none (with perhaps the exception of Woodhall Spa and Lindrick) and there are so many good golf holes especially on the back nine. My favourites were the 8th, the 11th and the 13th, all great golf holes with the 11th being in a different class altogether. With a new clubhouse this is a must play course and I would recommend it to anybody. 87%

Mackenzie Brothers designed most of this challenging course. Covering a spectacular stretch of woodfringed moorland, long undulating holes with heather and pines for company. Along with Cypress Point (parkland, woodland, oceanscape) St Ives has three distinct characteristics. Parkland, Woodland and Moorland in equal parts. A rewarding challenge with great scenery.
