My name is Duncan Lamont now living in Sydney Australia. Blairmore and Strone will always be special to me I was the club champion 5 times in the seventies and eighties and held the course record of 63 for 10 or so years before a good friend of mine Gordon Tyre shot a 62 last year. I have not played the course since my last visit 6 years ago, but I am planing to play the course when I return to my home village of Strone for a four week holiday this May, maybe I can regain my course record. It is certainly a beautiful and challenging course with breathtaking views. Thanks,

This delightful 9 hole course is a test of ones ability to hit small targets. If you can master the art of hitting the greens, you will find then a treat to putt on. The course commands superb views of the Firth of Clyde, the Holy Loch and of Loch Long. On a clear day you can look down the Firth and see Ailsa Craig.
Anytime you are in the area I would recommend a visit to this course, where a very warm welcome, and reasonable green fees await you.

I have played Strone Golf Club Many times. In fact that is where I was first introduced to the game. I have many fond memories of playing there. My name is James Mitchell and I was born in Strone, you may have heard of Mitchell & Sons cartage of Strone, I am the younger son of James Mitchell and I play to a one handicap, just thought I would drop you a line, as I found you on the inter-net much to my surprise. Bye for now.
