What a golf course - I stumbled upon this gem by complete accident and cannot believe that it has received so little attention to date. The most outstanding features are the greens and their surrounds.
Not a particularly long course but one that will equalise golfers by the sheer subtlety required in ones short game. Not here are ridiculous anomalous lumps which are usually encountered around poorly designed greens, here the swale, hollows and contours are so natural and clever that chipping and putting alone would make a fine days entertainment.
I had the good fortune to play the course on a warm and sunny evening, thus getting the best of the shadows and contrast between the levels but on any day the joy of negotiating tricky and thought provoking approaches and pitches will be enough to satisfy anyone. Oh, by the way, the rest of the course is fantastic too but it is the incredibly well designed greens that have made me determined to return again and again.
