Really good course for the beginner and the experienced golfer. With many challenging hole, yet also some forgiving, which makes this a great course for the beginner. The courses best holes are the 1st, 5th, 10th and 15th.
Overall a challenging yet beautiful golf course and would recommend it to anyone :)

A course which brings the best out of every golfer. Challenging enough for low handicappers, but forgiving enough for the rest. Some very tricky par fours like the 3rd, 4th and 16th are the courses finest moments. The best thing about Brackenwood is that you will play through your bag of clubs and play almost every type of shot in a typical round. Conditions can vary though and it does play boggy during the wetter months, but on a catch Brackenwood on a good day and you are in for a treat. A course which requires a good deal of thinking about to get the best out of.

I have played the course for 2 years now. It can be a challenge for the
beginner and intermediate players. It is a beautiful course and long. The
downside is it holds water too quickly and the greens are soaked after a
little rain. The play is way too long ( 5 to 6 hours on a weekend ). Too many
children accessing the course and stealing your balls. There should be more
control on the golfers and children on the course. I haven't seen any
management ability for this good course. It would be much better if it was
    controlled through marshalling.

The first time I played at Brackenwood I was really impressed with the course, I had only played about four other times before this and this course was one of the most picturesque I had played on. The course can be a very challenging when you are new to the holes. What I like about this course is
the 13th hole and the 18th hole. I didn't think much of the par threes, but the rest of the course is well worth the five pound green fee, but the course does tend to get a bit soggy and tends to plug your ball from the tee if it is wet. But overall a great course.
I like this course, it is very challenging because you have to keep straight. I dont have a handicap at the moment but I am thinking of getting one (I recon it would be round the 25 mark). I think that the only problem with this course is on the 13th, those big, horrible mounds are the only thing that spoil the course, and I'm glad to see that the 4th tee has been cleared up.

After playing Brackenwood for over 15 years it continues to be a challenge. Whatever the weather no good score is guaranteed, with some tricky par fours, especially over the back-9.It will get a bit soft after rain, but remains in fair condition even through the Winter. It represents reasonable value for money for any standard of player.

For a municipal course, it is amazing for its price. It is not too easy but is certainly not too dificult for those to play who have not yet managed to achieve a handicap ! It can be busy at times and it is better to play early in the morning. If you decide to play the course you certainly won't regret paying the minimal £5 fee.

I have been member of Brackenwood Golf Club for over 10 years now. I have played the course in all weathers and must agree that in winter the course does tend to be boggy on several holes on the front 9.
The course when presented for the Wirral Open golf championships is second to none.
very picturesque course with some challenging holes, sadly through lack of monies being made available from the council the maintenance is poor and this once great asset to the Wirral begins to deteriorate into a nature reserve again
