A lovely course. Fairways are cut short for good or bad, bunkers are not a terrible threat but the water makes up for that and in a bad round can completely destroy your love of the game!. BUT on a good round feeling the success of arriving on the 18th green, after the terrifying experience of the many spectators ,watching from the club-house is enough to make a bad golf day a good one. water is a feature on 17 of the holes (even the river Trent can come into play!)An extremely challenging course but an amazingly enjoyable one.

Very nice course on the banks of the river Trent featuring some long and interesting holes the front 9 is all new and came into play in the middle of 2000, the back nine is mature (25 years).
Key holes are the 4th medium length par 4 which is an iron tee shot down a narrow fairway then a low iron over water to a well protected undulating green. The 8th a 600 yard par 5 with a drive down tree lined fairway, then a second with woods on the left and water to the right, followed by a third over a brook. The 18th tee off down a narrow fairway treelined with a brook on both sides, followed by a second over a pond to a green in front of the club balcony. The 18th requires good nerves as all the local golfers sit on the patio and take bets on who will and won't get over the pond and onto the green in 2.
