Great beginners 18 hole course, very challenging for par 3's.
Superb 9 hole course, with superb views and great fairways.
I am a junior membership, and for 2009 junior membership is £60, absolute bargain, especially for a great course!!

A good Learners course, no dress code, no tee-of times, but a largely unorganised course.
very unchallenging; i play off 14 and managed to shoot 80 on the large course. (62 on the par 3/4 course)
The condition of the greens, fairways and tees on both of the courses are terrible (especially in winter.)pitch marks are rarely replaced; tees are never flat and the grass is often too long.
One advantage of this course is that a beginner can hack away at the course without largely changing the courses condition. Definitley begginners only.

Having played the course on a number of occasions I found the 18 hole course
ideal for beginners, and ideal to polish up your short game while still challenging you to go round in anything near level par. The 9-hole course is definitely more of an emphasis on distance and will test most peoples drives the par 4th hole being the most obvious with water on the left and OOB on the right. On the whole I find it a very good course for beginner and middle handicappers as well.

I play the 18 hole course on a regular basis and being a relative beginner find it quite difficult, there's a lot of OOB and a need to be straight on a lot of holes. My best round is 78 but I'm usually 80-85, the nine hole I've done once it is a lot longer but emphasis is more on length than accuracy.

Castle Hawk is a perfectly adequate course. The 18 hole is very good for developing your short game and it is almost impossible to go around in parThe 9 hole is a little confusing in layout - some shared greens etc.. make your own mind up.
