The course was quite wet and several holes had temporary greens. The first 3 holes were pretty unmemorable but after that it gets pretty interesting. The 4th is a superb short Par 3 where as the 6th is a great medium length Par 3. The 7th is a tremendous Par 4 where staying to the left off the tee is an advantage. The back nine being a bit flatter is not quite as interesting as the front nine but the 17th is a superb example of a short Par 4 with a giant bunker 30 yards or so short of the green. Clearing it with your drive gives a simple birdie but going into it leaves a very tough bunker shot. Overall a better than average course.

I am a member, so my comments may be biased. The course is situated on the top of the Chiltern Hills offering wonderful views of the Pednor Valley and a challenge to the best golfers. The club is up Chartridge Lane from the centre of Chesham.
The course is often quite tight, the par 3, 6th especially, lined with trees on both sides to a tree protected green. The 7th is a 360-yard par 4, tight off the tee but opening to a blind green beyond. The 10th is over water from the tee to an elevated green. The back nine is more open than the front offering some room to open your shoulders on the long par 4 on the 11th, 12th and par 5 14th. The 448 yard 16th is lined with trees on the left and a steep faced fairway bunker at driving length waiting to catch you.

Situated in the Chiltern hills this is an excellent 18 hole course with a wide variety of holes proving quite a challenge, ranging from long tree lined par fives and a dog-leg multi-sloping blind par four to a par three in the woods which, depending on where the pin is,requires a good slice or over the edge of the trees surrounding the a lot of the green. Very good access from London, e.g. 2 miles from the London underground (Chesham). Only 8 miles from the M25 London orbital motorway.
