Chipping Norton Golf Club was founded in 1890 and moved to its present site in 1932. Formerly a 9 hole course with alternate tees, the course was extended to 18 in 1986. At some 800 feet above sea level, this undulating parkland course is the high spot of Oxfordshire. The winds can feature.
A new Clubhouse was built in 1995.
Club facilities and services include practice ground, licensed premises and catering.
Directions
1.5 miles east of Chipping Norton on the A44.

| Chipping Norton is a parkland course with a pond on the eighth hole and stream meandering through the valley at the 5th and 6th holes, feeding the lake at the par3, third. Great club with a very friendly atmosphere. Very dynamic ladies section with plenty of competitions. The course is playing well in spite of flooding during the recent thunder storms.

Chipping Norton course is a mature course set in the middle of the Cotswolds, and a short distance from the market town from which it takes it's name. The new clubhouse at the course is less than two years old and so is of a good standard with the main bar being on the second floor overlooking the short first. The course has one hole over water and a number of natural streams punctuate the fairways. Mature trees surround most of the course and the greens are by and large demanding. On the down side the winter greens remove a lot of the interest in playing the course, although these are gradually improving. The cost per round is pretty steep in comparison with Cherwell Edge and Chesterton but the course is probably worth it. The club is quite formal (no shorts in the bar etc) but this can be an advantage! Have fun!

Hi,
Thank you for you comments, but I thought you may like to know the club has relaxed the wearing of shorts in the club and our fees are now more competitive. Also we have done a lot of work on the course to improve playing conditions.
