Concord Park is a short golf course at only 4500 yards, but still sports some very difficult holes. With only one par five and an incredible nine par threes (3 are over 200 yards and a couple more are approaching this distance), Concord offers a different challenge to all types of golfers. It is set in hilly woodland on the outskirts of Sheffield, which makes certain holes taxing to say the least. For example the unique par three 12th at 244 yards, with its blind tee shot from the top of the hill over the woods and the 6th hole, with the tight tee shot through the trees to its well guarded green. Most of the par threes are an enjoyable challenge i.e. you might be using your driver on certain days, while the par fours are just far too easy. The first hole is only 300 yards long and I have driven it on many occasions, as I have the par four fourth, fifth and nearly the 340 yard 11th. Overall Concord is ' different' , and if you live near Sheffield it is well worth a look at if not only for some of the great par threes. It is also good value and I would recommend it to anyone who is just starting the game, especially juniors.
