After spending two weeks in Longford for the holiday season, it was a delight to play my old home course. Longford once again defied the weather and was open almost everyday through the Christmas. Granted the course was a little wet in spots and there were temporary greens on some days, nonetheless I still managed to get out for a walk most days. The 18th is still a great golf hole.
I would like to thank Mr. John Donlon for his usual hospitality, and the staff in the Clubhouse for their warm service.
Finally, I would like to apologise to Mr. Dennis Hughes and thank him for his understanding. Hopefully, I will be back for Open Week.

Have just played Longford G.C. again today and am amazed at how dry the course is for this time of year. Met up with local professionals Liam Boland and Pascal Quinn who parred their way round the demanding back 9. The new clubhouse will be open for the Millennium Ball and is looking very impressive from the 14th fairway. Work will commence on new course design in the spring and I look forward to playing this midland course again soon.
