i was a member at croham hurst for 10 years, played off plus 2 when i was just 16 , great golf course, tried to beat my dads old friend harry weetmans course record 0f 58, nearest i got was a 61 in a friendly, i remember a guy called stuart robson was a member there, i was picked for surrey at 16 and he did not think i was good enough , until i beat him in the surrey amaure, and came second at st georges hill , i made my point. croham hurst great course, but most of the members full of alcaholics.

I played for many years with Peter Lovesey. I remember Phil Legge and Chilcotts Babes.
I lived opposite the 4th Fairway and loved every day at Croham Hurst.
        I miss it terribly.

Being a member there for over 17 years, and having had the pleasure of shooting a 8 under 62 gross in a medal, now a Professional Golfer, I have to say that I probally know every square inch of this beautiful course as well as any one alive!!
The course starts with two very testing par 4's going up hill both over 400 yards. From there on the course does not fail to disappoint. Pleasant woodland setting's, and well maintained, this is one of surreys best kept secret courses. The course is not too tough or too easy, it will test every club in your bag from wedge to driver, it is in my opinion a perfect members Golf Course.
It would be fitting to mention the sad news I heard, that Alex Chillcott past away 2 days ago. Alex was a major figure in the history of the club through the 50's to the present day. An ex Capt. who did allot for the growth of Junior Golf, whom I certainly owe my present career too.
God Bless and rest in peace, Alex.

For I have recently completed Work Experience there. I believe they have a very good system of green maintenance and I enjoyed working there. Many of the members had pleasant words to say about the course.
As I worked at Croham Hurst Golf Club as a greenkeeper I have a better understanding of how much work goes into keeping the green neat and tidy and the grass healthy. I would advise anyone who has an interest in Golf to take the time to visit Croham Hurst Golf Club and play, for the greenkeepers work hard to maintain the course to a good standard.
    Yours Faithfully
