Played in a society day at DFGC yesterday with typically British June weather - dry in the morning and soaking wet in the afternoon. Course was outstanding and thoroughly enjoyable. Well manicured, flawless greens throughout a course which actually makes you think. Not long by any means, but tricky. Back nine better than the front. Word of warning - cardwrecker is the 15th - only 295 yards but see if you can birdie it! Clubhouse and staff/members are definitely trapped in the 40s - a good thing in this case as the whole place is quaint . Very highly recommended.

Played this course many times (as a visitor) in the late 1980's/early 1990's with fond memories of an excellent course kept in superb condition.
Such memories are enhanced by my only ever hole-in-one. This was at the 4th when my tee-shot went slightly left (I couldn't see the result as the green was blind from the tee). We only realized when a couple coming down the 3rd (an American couple as it turned out) started jumping up and down - my tee-shot had bounced off the bank of the bunker and rolled straight into the hole. About 3 months later, I holed my second shot (a 7 iron) at the 3rd hole - so two holes in golf I certainly remember.
We had a less agreeable experience a few months later when we arrived for a Sunday morning round. The individual in the pro-shop (I'm sure not normally serving there) made us feel particularly unwelcome. We have not been back since, but perhaps we will one day.

This course is one of the finest you will find ANYWHERE! It is very testing, especially if the wind blows but never mind that...the views are breathtaking, the course is in fantastic condition, the reception by all including the members ( there are reported to be only 250) wass first class. This place cannot be recommended highly enough. An absolute must for the purist.

Very nice and challenging golf course. Greens are fantastic, even if a bit hard. Long, 'hilly' course. Holes are mainly straight though, teeing off either above or below the green. Nice views of Delemere Forest and the Club House from every angle of the course. Well recommended.

One of the finest golf courses in Cheshire, the course is cut out of Delamere forest, greens are always fantastic and the course never closes for rain! The setup is a bit qwerky though, sometimes the cluhouse will not be open, do not rely on getting a meal there!
