Saturday 18th September, 1909 was a major milestone in the history of Delgany Golf Club. On that date, the reigning Irish Champion, Michael 'Dyke' Moran, played a 36-hole challenge match over the course against Harry Vardon. After yet another victory celebrated Vardon was engaged to advise as to what improvements could be made to the infant course. He staked locations for bunkers and made many other suggestions that were accepted by the Committee. It seems therefore that the unique character of Delgany owes much to one of the most legendary names in the history of golf.

With splendid views of the 'Garden of Ireland', fairways lined with stately mature trees, some memorable holes and a proud tradition of warm hospitality Delgany is a delightful venue for the discerning golfer. The peace and tranquillity Delgany is a delightful venue for the discerning golfer. The peace and tranquillity of the sylvan setting is its own reward - the golf is a bonus.

Course Name: Delgany Holes: 18 Yardage: 6025 SSS: 69
Delgany parkland course was designed by Harry Vardon.. It is undulating 18 hole course, set beside the Glen of the Downs- mature trees - not particularly long but straight hitting off the tee an advantage.

The 12th hole is an excellent par 4 - without a bunker!

the words snobby and unwelcoming are too good for this place, the members obviously do not want guests! Would not go back here if they paid me
