  • Sinfin a most friendly Golf Club

I was a member at Derby Sinfin Golf Club in 1959 and found its members most welcoming, friendly, and very helpful to beginners like myself.
It was the start of me playing golf, in France,Greece,Portugal,Spain,North Africa, Singapore and the Middle East.
I retired as a playing member of the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain in 2011, but still have fond memories of my 5 years at Sinfin Golf Club.

Played Sinfin GC in the Derby Ram last year 2009. Was a poor quality course , but the Derby Ram Comptetion was well organized and prizes were fantastic. It seems like the same few players have been winning the Derby Ram since it began in the 1970s. P.Baxter (Chevin), R Davenport (Matlock), T. Payne (Notts City), N. Harvey (Allestree Park) & M.Scothern (Coxmoor). Its about time some new faces got their names on the Ram. Good Luck against them boys....

As The junoir captin of this golf club i play this course more or less on the back of the hand. i have bin playin there for bout 4 years now an find it no less interesting than the last time i played. it has the most challenging front nine hole in derbyshire, but that doesn't mean that it is the least enjoyable. This is a course that is well looked after and i am pround to be a part of it. GIVE IT A GO!!!!!!

Played the course once in 'The Derby Ram' a few years ago and thought at the time it was the best municipal course I'd played. Despite recent heavy rain the greens were superb. y opinion may have been influenced that I played well that day shooting a 2-over par 72 with 16 pars and 2 bogies to get in the prizes. Not bad to say I'd never seen the course before. Hope to play in The Derby Ram again someday as the tournament was very well run and a very friendly welcome was given to all.

Not the longest of courses but very well sculptured with many doglegs. A very flat course with average greens but a real pleasure to play. It can be booked just a few days in advance, so ideal for a last minute booking. I have played it 5 times and not got bored of it and at less than £10 you cannot go far wrong!
