On a regular holiday with two young sons (9 and 11) and we managed to get nearly three rounds in over 2 days and enjoyed it immensely. Difficult for all of us with the wind blowing but course in fine condition and on the last round all three of us managed to get on the green at the short 13th over the rocks! Would love to be closer and play here more often at this friendly and fairly priced course. Nice selection of ice creams as well for the beach days!

I have noticed as a regular player at Dunstanburgh that the quality of the greens and fairways has improved greatly in the last two years due to the expert green keeper and his team under the guidance of proprietor Dr Peter Gilbert. As only a medium skilled player I do not quite appreciate the treatment of the semi rough and rough areas where the staff have allowed extra growth but this would appeal to a low handicap golfer who is trying to turn in a particularly good score for a round. Incidentally, the food and drink in the clubhouse is the finest of its type in Northumberland in my view. Even if you are not playing golf it is worth "popping in" (making sure you pay your carpark charge in the clubhouse first!) for a sandwich or one of the extensive items from the menu. You can then enjoy the breathtaking scenery or the wonderful golden beaches which adjoin the course.

Agree with everyone that this is a very welcoming club that doesn't stand on ceremony. Very popular with local walkers and families taking a strole along the beach. Great views and some nice holes, but, sorry, it's not one of the world's greatest links. It is fairly priced and well worth a visit. Recommended.

I played this course for the first time on Saturday and it was a delight. Very unpretentious, and extremely friendly. The par 3 over the rocks is indeed a challenge and I was happy to hit the green in one with a 9 iron. The 6th is a wonderful hole, although my drive took off, grabbed the wind and went for a trip on the beach!!!!

I play this course regularly and find it one of the finest links courses in Europe. The standard of the fairways and greens improves constantly under the proprietor s guidance in conjunction with environmentalists and the standard of catering and facilities at any time of year in the Clubhouse is second to none. Definitely worth a detour if necessary.

I travel up to Northumberland once a year to play this lovely course as well as a few others, Dunstanburgh stands out for it's layout. It is a test for any level of golfer especially if the winds Blowing. The holes to watch for are the 4th, 6th and definitely the 13th which is a par 3 but can play from A wedge to a 7iron dependent on the wind conditions. The best about this place is the hospitality at the Club and especially at the nearby sportsman inn nothing is to much trouble thanks Ken and Judith.

I played this course in 1983; at the time it was a spur of the moment choice prompted by the AA golf guide; the experience was great. I coming over from the great white north of Canada to play some British courses again in 98. This course is on my personal top ten list.

I've played this course about three times over the past few years, it is a good test of golf, fantastic scenery, incredible wildlife. The coastline is amazing. I usually make my stay within a drive and a five iron of the course at the Sportsman Inn at Embleton, this enables discount on this and other courses, reducing the already ridiculous price even further. The price, hospitality and food at the pub are fantastic - I'll be back with a group next year.
