Please remove older reviews as they no longer reflect the condition of the course as it is now. It has been totally renovated and upgraded to USGA standard since the Summer of 2002.

This is a slanderous statement. This course has been played by me on many occasions over the last 2 years and it is never less than perfect. Never sheep! Never muck!

This is a magnificent test of golf - in beautiful suurounding at the foothills of the Dublin mountains. A Peter McEvoy designed course with rolling undulating greens. A comfortable course to play - ideal for all golfers providing each handicap level its own challenging but not daunting golf. Beautifully maintained and not many golfers will beat its Par of 71. A secret gem.

Currently a very picturesque layout with numerous 21st Century features such as muck in the middle of the fairway and sheep lining the fairway to catch any wayward shot. A true test of your long irons, especially second shots to par fours. Truly Splendid.

I played this course recently and enjoyed the challenge. Full credit to the groundsmen a truly fine example of how a golf course should be maintained. Although there is some significant road works taking place adjacent to the course, this caused no trouble whatsoever to any of our group. We are playing the Bren Ahern golf classic 2000 shortly and I am confident our invited guests will enjoy the day.

A good course with several well-designed and challenging holes. The scenery as you play is very pleasant and the overall maintenance of the course is very good, although some of the greens were a little dodgey. Not difficult and some of the best Guinness in Ireland is served in the club bar.

Played this course recently (June 99), and found it quite challenging with my handicap of 22.
Many greens are not visible from the tee; however, the rough is quite forgiving with short grass and high branches on the trees, which line most holes. The fairways are quite wide and most par 4's require a decent drive and 7-9 iron to reach the green. Dogleg par 5's are difficult to reach in 2 and the water on the 4th will also penalise those attacking the green with the 2nd shot but not quite getting there.
Undergoing some reconstruction at the moment, which will improve the 9th, a severe dogleg left.
Overall a very picturesque tree lined course, with some difficult water hazards on the 4th and 6th. All greens are in great condition and despite the level of rain at the moment, they are firm and fast. The cups however, were a little ragged round the edges.
Excellent clubhouse facilities, and a great days golf.
