Situated at close to junction 31 on the M6 motorway,Fishwick Hall Golf Club is conveniently accessible from Lancashie motorway network. Rushing up the hill into the city of Preston, motorists may rush passed it, but they are missing a little gem.
A challenging parkland course with straight driving being called for, at
just over 6000 yards it is not a monster but a subtle test. Many consider
the second as the feature hole with its elevated tee and views of the River Ribble and the surrounding countryside. A par five dog-legging to the left with a water hazard at 300 yards awaits you.
Others feel the fourth with its second shot played to an elevated tee when
you cannot see the base of the flagstick is the better golfing hole.
With two holes running alongside the River Ribble and great variety over
the back nine, there's something for everyone and visitors are always glad
that they came and discovered such a good course.

The Barnton Bandits Golfing Society played this course during their Millennium Outing. It was chosen by our stocky Captain Brian Walker as with an affinity to hilly courses, he sought to gain an advantage. However, on such a challenging course, such proved not to be the case, and some of the higher handicappers prevailed - in spite of there having been imposed a strictly enforced upper handicap limit. The views over the Ribble Valley were memorable, and we would thoroughly recommend this course to other societies, even though the choice of whiskeys on the 19th was limited.

I played this golf course as a guest of member Bill ( Bud ) Abbott whilston vacation in the Preston area. This is a somewhat hilly golf course overlooking the beautiful Ribble valley. Some of the holes run adjacent to the River Ribble and the running water can have a severe effect on a breaking putt. Be sure to bring all 14 of your clubs to this challenging course. There is also a fine club house with a well stocked bar. The meal I had from the kitchen was very well presented and very tasty.
