Foyle International Golf Centre

Course Name: The Beeches Holes: 18 Yardage: 6678 SSS: 72
Parkland championship course. Once outdoors you will find yourself playing under the constantly changing shadows of Donegal's famous purple hills. There are numerous holes worthy of mention but none so more than the 15th 'The Elms'. A par at Foyle's most difficult hole is a score to be cherished. With two lakes coming into play and numerous strategically placed bunkers the course offers an interesting challenge to golfers of all handicaps. Green and tees are laid to USGA specification. For an appreciation and independent view of this course please see golfer reviews.
Course Name: Woodlands Par 3 Holes: 9 Yardage: 1349 SSS:
Built to the same high standard as the 18 hole course with quality greens. This course is an ideal location to improve what is professional acclaimed the most important part of golf, 'the Short Game!'. It will challenge beginners and experienced golfers alike with water coming into play on the 6th and 7th hole.

I had the pleasure of playing this fine course in Aug 98. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition (and so were the ponds who eagerly claimed a few of my balls!!) and on the whole I found the course quite challenging with some beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and 'hills'.
The welcome I received was superb and the lady in the pro shop, who's name I have forgotten was a great help in introducing me to a member (a local fireman) who took me around the course giving some invaluable local knowledge. The restaurant/bar is very welcoming and serves great food and even better Guinness!!
I very much look forward to playing the course again when I visit Ireland again this year. If you are going anywhere near Derry on your golfing holidays you must pay a visit to this course.
