This is a fun course to play, with fantastic views across to Kintyre. The fairways were in good condition and the course was well maintained, although the greens are a bit bumpy and definitely on the slow side.
On several of the holes, notably the 2nd ('Wee Yin') and the 4th ('Rowans'), there is tremendously thick bracken awaiting any wayward shot, and for the most part it's not even worth looking for your ball if it goes in there. Although the course seems to be in a relatively sheltered spot, I'd imagine there is always a fair bit of wind about, so with the breeze and the bracken it's just as well that the fairways are generally very wide.
The best hole is the 117-yard 5th - the Braes – which requires a tricky tee-shot up a steep hill and a difficult chip from either above or below the hole if you miss the green. There are no sand bunkers on the course, although there are some grass ones.
If you don't have clubs with you, there are a few old ones you can use in the shed that acts as the 'clubhouse'.

I have played this site 5 times or so over the last 4 years at temperate times of the year. Although only a 9 hole course there is adequate variation amongst the holes; some of them long enough for an ambitious 3 wood or driver, some hide their flags beyond hill summits or dog legs, some appear short and deceptively straightforward, but all the while you have the consistency of wonderful views across the sound of Gigha towards Kintyre. There is no-one to take money from you, so just put your green fee into the Honesty Box.
In my humble opinion: a relaxing and enjoyable course.
