A very interesting parkland course on the outskirts of Edinburgh near Penicuik. The course starts as it means to go on with a daunting par three. You will need a driver to get to the green. The fairway runs downhill to a burn which, is out of site at the tee.
Most interesting is the fifth, another par three which, must rate as one of the hardest holes in Scotland. A high tee with a burn to the immediate right running the side of the fairway and cuts across the hole just before green which slopes toward it guiding bounces back toward the water. If you are going to drive for the green (which again you will need to) take another ball out of the bag, you may need it!
I thoroughly recommend this course to any visitors who need a break from the gruelling links courses in the area. Just don't expect it to be too much easier. Past members of this club include Mr Bernard Gallagher.
