A great day out was had by one and all the day we visited Greenock - friendly around the clubhouse/shop and some excellent holes with even better putting surfaces (proof of this was that I 1 putted on many of them). The view from the top end of the course is something else. The course was so enjoyable that we even managed to play 2 rounds and I will return for sure. The only real downer though was the holes that run through the council scheme.

Hole 6:- 260y to burn at bottom of downhill fairway. Then a sand iron to green and putt for birdie(I wish). Any drive to centre or left of fairway is good, but right hand side is lost with a burn and forest there. Coming into the green I usually have 110 to pin and have 8 or 9 in hand because short and you are beat. Tricky hole but not too intimidating.
Hole 7:- Dogleg to right but can't carry corner. Needs around 180-190 to get up onto the second part of fairway and see green. You are left with 7 or 8 to green. don't miss green left or right. Just miss it..........errr,mmmmmm ........... just don't miss it. Good or Bad hole for matchplay. Rarely halved in any 9-hole matches.
Hole 8:- The Gully. Yes, 90y over a gully to a flat green, sound easy? its not. Sheltered tee so hard to judge wind. Once mastered its ok but when first playing it you will find it a nightmare. I tell you that long is ok, trust me on that. The Gully is a place of no return.
Hole 9:- 208y par 3 over a 'JUNGLE.' 3 wood to have chip and putt for par and a 3 iron for wedge and par. Choose what you want. But if you go in the Jungle you are done. Also one wee thing for those who slice..... There is an out-of-bounds cemy wall to the right. Relatively straight forward hole. Be safe than be sorry, use a 3 iron.
This is a challenging and unforgiving course that pays to those who hit straight. Only 9 holes but good for those with the smaller legs. Play safe rather than go for it as it eats golf balls. PS watch out for the Bijou's( People who run on from local high flats and steel balls)

After a round on this course, the 19th hole is welcome,as agood thirst is worked up on quite ademanding, physical course. However the view's surrounding this course are spectacular. Some great hole's,that also include's the three where bear's from bow farm are to be found.
A great course with cracking view's. A word of warning however, watch out for the bear's from bow farm on 8,9+10.
