Hampstead Golf Club is well established 9 hole golf course founded in 1893. Small, very traditional club house with bar and catering facilities and a friendly atmosphere. Clubs available for hire from the professional. No driving range or other facilities.

Winnington Road off Hampstead Lane near Ken Wood House and the Spaniards Inn. (By Public transport go to Golders Green underground station and take 210 bus to Ken Wood House).

Although only a 9 hole course, Hampstead manages to throw some fantastic surprises at the unsuspecting golfer. Although the first hole is a rather dull, par 4 that is quite reachable in one, you will later look back with a feeling that the designer was just trying to lead you into a false sense of security.
The second hole is one of the longest and most difficult par 4's I have ever played and if the wind is against you then most people should play the hole as though it were a par 5. The beauty of this course is in its layout, with the long holes that test a players driving abilities being followed by tight par 3's that really put pressure on a golfers short game. The surrounding views of Hampstead and the remarkable houses that border the course are reason enough to part with your green fee, but to find a course like this so close to the centre of London would be viewed as being an unmissable treat for anyone who can appreciate a well thought out course.
