We simply turned up on a Sunday afternoon on the off chance of getting a round of golf.
We tee'd off 10 mins later with a buggy too!
We were warmly welcomed by the club pro and and had some friendly banter with a few other golfers around the course!
The four ball in front courteously allowed us to play through!
Absolutely will play this course again !!!

The directors of the Hobson Golf Club have made it one of the most thriving clubs in the area. Ten years ago the members leased the course from the council and steady investment has improved the playing qualities and further enhanced the visual appeal of this fine course. The senior section, with competitions on Tuesday and Thursday, has attracted what must be the largest membership in the North because of the welcoming nature of the club.

i to wish i had read your comment before booking a tee time, we recently booked a tee off time of 8.47 we joined at the back of a large que around twenty minutes before our tee time we spent all of that time being stared at by the members waiting to play, our party felt very unwelcome.
we decided to ask so not to jump in front of anyone where we are in the order to tee off eventualy one of the members pointed and said jump in there, as we walked to the 1st tee two more members decided to jump in before us, again i asked so not to offend any one we are due to tee off now to which the two memebers made it perfectly clear you are not teeing off now you must have missed your time we were swore at and told its tough basically they made it very clear its best we leave all of this happended in front of two of our party's twelve year old children who had come along for the first time to caddy.
it was not a very nice experience for us all the two boys with us felt very frightended by the members reactions.
HOBSONS is a course i wish i had never visited i just hope it has not put off my nephews from wanting to come golfing in the future, hobsons is a course i belief that is stuck in the past if we cant attract new young players to our game how long can clubs like hobsons survive if they continue to treat visitors in this manner.

I AM NOT SURPRISED I AM THE ONLY PERSON TO POST A MESSAGE ABOUT THE HOBSON GOLF COURSE, IT IS BY FAR THE MOST UNWELCOMING COURSE I HAVE EVERY VISITED. WHERE DO I,THE RUDE AND UNHELPFUL STAFF,THE REGULARS WHO TREAT YOU AS IF YOU HAD JUST DROVE A TRACTOR OVER THERE GREENS( WHICH I THINK SOME PEOPLE HAVE ) OR THE FACILITIES WHERE YOU CANT EVEN USE THE TOILET IF YOUR NOT A MEMBER. THE HOBSON IS ONE COURSE I WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN AND I DONT THINK I AM THE ONLY ONE.
