Very good gold course and in a location that is not very busy. lots of wildlife (birds) and wide open spaces for picnics. Pleasent vegetation and good service.

Today I have found out that after having the function room booked since end June 2009 for our wedding on 03/07/10 I can not have this date. This is due to being mis advised by one of the members of staff (who organises the functions along with the manager).
When I originally went into the club in June 2009 I wanted 10th July 2010 as the date for my function- I was told that this was provisionally booked and that they would not get an answer from this couple up until maybe December so I provisionally booked 3rd July 2010- I asked how when I know I want that date do I confirm the booking- I was told just to call up and confirm.
The following weekend I saw the Priest after mass and he confirmed that this date was free - we were excited we called the golf club and confirmed we wanted the 3rd July 2010 as our date.
Still no mention of payments or deposits- the room hire was free as we was having them cater.
I popped in to the golf club to speak with them to arrange what we wanted and when we would pay and was told by the manager that a deposit was to be paid.
I called up on Thurs 3rd Sept a week or so later to ask to see the manager to arrange payment of the deposit and to confirm how much this would be. The employee who I first seen said that I would be able to go in and pay this deposit to her. I went in the following day Fri 4th Sept only to be told that someone had already paid a deposit on this date!! To my horror I realised that we may have to change dates after already making and sending our save the dates, paying the registrar, booking the photographer and buying gifts with the date engraved on for the wedding party.
I was told that this employee would have to speak to the manager to check the details as there has been a mix up- the manager was off until Mon 7th Sept (today) and I would get a call back.
I called today as have received no call back from Tracy the manager- I left a message as she had popped out and would be back in ten minutes- i asked for a call asap, I did not get this and so I called again after 25 minutes to which she came onto the line.
I was not given an apology or sympathised with at all as to this major error that is affecting one of the biggest days of my life, when I asked how this could have happened that someone could pay a deposit on a date that I had already booked I was told that she is the organiser of the functions and that Karen was still training and had not been there long- When I originally went in I was told the Karen was the one who organised the functions.
Now surely I felt upset and cheated and could not believe that a golf club of this standard can make a massive mistake like this and that someone who has not been fully trained is allowed to give out information that is so unbelievably incorrect. When I asked about this I was accused of telling Tracy how to run her business which is most definitely something i was not trying to do i was merely trying to get my head round how a mistake so massive could have been made.
We are now taking our business else where and I would warn anyone considering this function to be very careful and ensure you speak to the manager and get written confirmation of everything as they only have a 2009 (1 year) diary.
I hope your arrangements go a lot more smoothly than mine have.

Played the front 9 last night and it was one of the worst experiences i have ever had on a golf course. The course itself is very challenging. However, the greens were shambolic, bunkers had no rakes and the sand was poor, fairways were cut very poorly with not much difference between rough and fairway. The course was so open that there were kids on bikes and on foot all over it. There are far too many public footpaths through the front 9 which means we were waiting for people walking dogs before we could play our shots. On the 7th hole a huge gang of teenagers armed with air rifles descended on us and we had to wait for them to pass before we could tee off. In almost everyone of the woods there were kids with music blarring also. I will not be playing this course again and can understand why it has gone from a members club to a pay and play.

Kids in woods with rifles! Public thoroughfares! It's all part of the challenge :-D ...my guess is you're a 14 handicap golfer and use all the excuses in the book...face it, you're just not cut out for it

I played this course mid-March with 3 friends, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did my playing companions. The fairways where a bit bare in places but that's only to be expected at the time of year we played, most of the greens were in very good condition as was the sand in the bunkers. I'll definitely be going back in the summer.

At 6294yds off the back tees, Ingol provides a good challenge for all standards of golfer. Fore is seldom heard on this course, as few holes run alongside each other. The second hole is particularly challenging, as is the 18th, with a second shot over a pond to a large green.
The course has its own 'road hole', the fourth. You can see what I mean when you play there. The friendly clubhouse provides very reasonably priced food and a good selection of drinks.
