Located in the Highlands of Scotland in the former Admiralty town of Invergordon, the Invergordon Golf Club was formed in 1883.
The course is set in the picturesque surroundings of the Cromarty Firth and is easily accessible from the main North/South A9 route. The course provides 18 holes of challenging golf for both the beginner and advanced golfer and is noted for its lush fairways surrounded by trees and rhododendrons.
The Club House offers warm homely surroundings with its licensed bar upstairs overlooking the course and comfortable changing facilities with showers for both male and female players. A range of traditional bar meals are always on offer. Catering services include :- Licensed Bar, Bar Meals, tea and coffee — normal licensing hours all year.

the greens are fast and the roughs are very nice to play of.i would have preferred to play inthe rough through the whole round. this is a great golf course

I have played at Invergordon many times and each and every time has been a new challenge. If you are lucky enough to get a little west to east breeze, this course can be both enjoyable and challenging. My favourite holes are the 2nd, 8th, 9th, and 18th. The 2nd is not a hole for the slicer. It is roughly 275 Yds, with huge overhanging trees all the way down the right of the fairway, and for those good hitters the green is fairly easy to hit in one.
The 8th is a short par 3 (about 150 Yds), with a pond just short and right of the green, surrounded by Rhododendrons. A seemingly never ending breeze from right to left can prove a little tricky at times, but on the whole a very nice hole.
The 9th is top of my favourites list. From the tee you have, from a beginners point of view, a long corridor of trees, both on the left and on the right, with a steep slope at the end of the tree line. This can be extremely daunting to the slicer and the hooker. Just make sure you get it up the hill, and you'll be all right. The 18th is a cracker!! It is a pretty tricky par 4 est. 275 Yds. You have a pretty wide fairway for about 200 Yds, and then a very steep rise to the green which is elevated about 40 - 50ft. You can reach the green in one if you have a tail wind, but it is advisable to keep to the left-hand side, and chip on.
If anyone is visiting the Highlands, I would strongly recommend you have a round to two at Invergordon.

This course is now 18 holes and absolutely stunning. If you like your fairway woods then this course is definitely for you and if the golfs off just enjoy the spectacular views.
You can also get a pass to play the Alness Golf Course at a reduced rated which is about 5 miles away.

My brother and I have played the old 9 hole course on many occasions as junior members between 1978 and 1982 before returning to Wales following the closure of the smelter.
We were wondering how much the course has changed over the years as we may return this summer. Please pass on our regards to the secretary who was also our geography teacher.
