Two wonderful golf courses set in pleasant parkland. Both courses offer different tests and are both individual.
The John O'Gaunt course offered a difficult test of both length and positional play to what where magnificent greens. Fairways are lined with various mature trees, along with carefully planned additions which were not the usual saplings, but matured trees transplanted.
All the appearance points towards a well managed course excellently maintained by what appeared to be a large number of Green staff.
The Carthagena course has a totally different feel and look in both fairways and playability. Some real tests of golf especially at the 16th which would do any golf club proud as a test of skilful play, it could annihilate any good card up to that point if not treated with the respect it deserves.
All this is supported by a large well equipped clubhouse of classic design and build. the staff are friendly and the food and service was excellent. The views from the clubhouse overlook the 18th green and the first tee and on nice days I am sure it is really pleasant to sit out on the patio to watch the other golfers come up to the 18th Green.
All in all an excellent day.

The course is very well maintained and challenging, but for the 'price' you could probably play a championship course. It is consistently awarded with county events and competitions when there are many better places to play.
