This is an excellent traditional links, with some fund holes and some great views over the Forth. Although quite short, I found that I had to keep my concentration to avoid some interesting traps. I would strongly recomment Kilspindie to anyone wanting to try links golf without the daunting experience of a championship length course. A round at Kilspindie would probably combine well with playing one of the nearby excellent courses, such as the Glen in North Berwick, which offers a differnet sort of seaside golf experience.

If you want to play a true sea-side course in the Lothians, Kilspindie is the one. Although others like North Berwik East and West Links share water-holes, Kilspindie offers the same amount and is flatter, making for a tricky round during windy days.
The rough (when I played in Septmeber 1998) was far from the worst I have seen - it was rather benevolent. Do not let your guard down for the last stretch of holes (holes 16-18) since they involve the 'intrusion' of a stone wall that requires skilled strategy and careful course management.

Kilspindie Golf Course is one of the best golf courses I have ever played on. Kilspindie is one of the most under-rated golf course in Scotland. The people are friendly, the way you get treated is excellent and most of all the course is always in great condition. A new course is being built right beside Kilspindie and this course looks a wonderful course even though it has only got grass on it. I would strongly recommend for anyone even women and juniors to play this course as it will be an experience you will never forget.
