Absolutely brilliant course. Not one bad thing can be said about it. It is expensive but I would pay double to play it again. If you are in St Andrews, play Kingsbarn last. Otherwise, the other courses in the area will be a let down. I met the niece of the developer back in the States about a week after I played it. I told her to tell her uncle he created a masterpiece!!

It is a wonderful course, and truly beautiful. On a recent trip with eleven other gents, I played seven great and famous courses in Scotland. My personal favourite was Kingsbarns and I believe nine or ten of the other gents voiced the same sentiment. I don't know when it will be, but I'll be back.

I had the good fortune to play this course in Sept 2001 - it is very expensive to play but I have to admit that in this case the price is actually worth it! A magnificent golfing experience, the course is exceptionally well maintained (is it possible it less than 2 years old!), with extremely undulating large, fast greens. It is very fair - if you are good enough to put it in approximately the right spot on the fairway then you are rewarded with a relatively easy approach shot (at least by comparison to what faces you if you have not brought your accurate driving game with you). Our party was immensely impressed with the quality of staff - nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel totally at home both on the course and the clubhouse - of course we were paying for the pleasure, but go on treat yourself, this is a special place and in a real sense far better value.
I would be surprised if this course is not included in Golf Worlds '100 Best Golf Courses in the World' within the next 12 months - it is that good.

I am a Golf Digest Panellist and was fortunate to played Kingsbarns Golf Links August 8th, 2000. It has everything a true golfer wants in a course. The course has great shot values, resistance to scoring, vistas, playability. It rewards the well-struck shot and penalises the wayward shots, as it should. The conditioning of the course was exceptional for being opened less than 3 months. Can't wait to play the course on my next trip in May!
