Great Course with two sets of 18 holes.
The course has developed well over the years and has good drainage in winter.
Many courses are closed in this area but Knotty is open most times even in bad conditions. Staff are great and membership is cheap.Greens are much improved and the course is developing well over time. Great driving range with two chipping greens plenty of putting areas and you can also tee of the grass in summer!

it gets a bit boring after a while and not much of a challenge and only two par 3 on our course which was disappointing. After about hole 13 the lady from the office arrived on her buggy asking us to play faster she said she had a phone call from some miserable sod about our slow play but not once was there anyone behind us waiting to play a shot.Obviously four balls (our party)are going to be slightly slower than people playing on their own or the people using the electric buggys. On the knotty hill website it says the are a "friendly club and offer a warm welcome to all" it also says practice and play in relaxed surroundings which is a damn lie.We were so incensed after this rude woman approached us that our game fell to bits and it put a sour taste in our mouths .We certainly won't return to this course and i certainly wouldn't recommend it to any of our friends.

A few years ago when i just started out playing golf, Knotty Hill like Phillip said in the previous post was in much need of some maintenence. Having grown up just a few miles away from the course i have watched the course develop from a poor course to one which is maturing and improving year by year. Now five years on the transformation is incredable due to lots of hard work from Ashley the head greenkeeper and his staff. The greens are now quick, fairways defined from the rough which are now both suitable lengths. The fairways have improved so much that htey are now similar length to the what the greens were five years ago. The clubhouse is extreemly spacious and offers great facillities including a huge driving range with lots of bays aswell astwo practice chipping greens and two putting greens both of considerable size. The staff are extreemly freindly and helpful and the club can also boast having several professionals including a pro shop where you will find two time European club maker of the year Marty Clemments. With many further improvements planned in the next two years totally transforming the layouts of b,c,d and the academy course into holes which offer variety and test the future looks very bright for members and visistors of Knotty Hill Golf Centre.

Played courses A & B (2 x 9 holes). Disappointed at how poor a condition the course is in compared to other courses I've played on. It was hard to tell where some of the tee boxes were compared to the rough.
The courses are very up and down with no real variety to them. They are nearly all Par 4's apart from a couple of 3's & and 5. One of the par 3's is just over 100 yards long. I've seen longer pitch and putt holes.
A lot of the greens were small and featureless with just a flat area. They had quite long grass with the fairways the length of semi-rough for other courses.
The paths between the holes could do with a lot of work also. Very rough and rocky in places in.
Hopefully the new holes that are being built at the moment will be of better quality.

I have been a member at the club for the last two years, and the improvements that have gone on in that time is staggering, new 9 hole course, tree planting, tee boxes that would grace any PGA tour, winter greens that are better than most courses main greens, and off course not forgetting the fantastic new club house, which also has a complete fitness area, and not forgetting the staff always friendly and will go out of there way to make your day special, as for Ian and Andrew come back and play the course again you would been in for a shock.

I played the course in the summer of last year,Ihad my brother visiting from Canada and he wanted a round of golf. The good thing about Knotty Hill was that I phoned on the Saturday to book a tee on the Sunday and I got one straight away.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful but I did not like course B and C very much I thought there was to much long grass.

You mean C and D ? There the best 18 holes there. Nice and long, for supreme lost drives.

I have been a member of this golf club for almost two years. The clubhouse was once a Porter-cabin type building! The facilities were somewhat limited, and the course had not matured. In the time I have been a member, I have witnessed the construction of a clubhouse second to none, which is manned by familiar friendly-faced staff. As a result of which, the facilities have improved dramatically. As for the course, well, can it possibly get any better! The fairways are as good as any other. The greens drain extremely well and maintained to a very high standard, and something which is often overlooked at a number of golf clubs, the 'Tee' boxes are among the nicest I have played off. Added to that the completion of an extra 18 holes, it must be the ultimate? All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience at Knotty Hill Golf Club. A note for Dennis Craggs - Well done, but can you block pave the entrance to the golf course?

A very trim little course. However I think some work could be done on the greens. Staff very pleasant.
