i have been a member of lakeside golf club since 1986, back then the course was just 9 holes but has now been extended to 18 holes.
The course is very tight and if you are wayward then a big score is inevitable
It represents excellent value for money and is a very friendly club, there is normally not too long a wait to join for new members.
my claim to fame on the course is when i scored an albatross 2 on the par 5 15th hole which has now been named st edwards green as a result of my good fortune!!
the course is mainly parkland with numerous natural and man made water hazards/features, the course is reasonably flat with just a few hills on the opening few holes.
to sum up the course is tight but fair and a score of par is some achievement no matter what your playing handicap.
if you wish to know any more about the club it has its own webpage at www.lakesidegolf20m.com or you can email me at jamie@edwards190272.freeserve.co.uk

Having played the course on several occasions I feel that earlier review is somewhat unfair. There are some testing holes and even the par three first hole causes many golfer problems. Although the power station is always in view this does not detract from the general appearance of the course. Well worth a visit.
