Enough about the course, go discover its' pleasure for yourself. What about
the facilities/Staff. This is a Japanese course, and I must say, Humax (the
proprietors) could teach a lot of other local courses a thing or two about
service (are you listening Aldwickbury, Rebourn + Harpenden Common?).
Whether you are a member or not, the service is beyond reproach. Mathew, the
course pro is naturally an excellent teacher + is very eloquent, without
being patronising, and more importantly, his tuition took 10 strokes off my
round. All the club/bar staff lack the surly attitude of many British
courses + combine to make your visit to Lamerwood, the perfect gentleman's
evening out. And on the subject of ' perfect gentleman's evening, when you
get back to the clubhouse, may I recommend that as you sun yourself on the
balcony, you partake a pint of Kirin, + any of the wide range of dishes
available from 'Sa-shi-mi', the finest Japanese restaurant in Hertfordshire,
which happens to in the clubhouse. Enjoy!
Postscript. The only slight downside to Lamerwood, is the lack of a
sprinkler system, which means that the speed of the greens varies greatly,
depending on the weather. That said, I still rate Lamerwood 9 ½ out of 10.

Played this Golf Course many times since opening a few years ago. When you step out on this well maintained well-designed test of Golf you can see many ideas from different Courses around the UK. Many holes, which look and play like Woburn and many Holes, which look, like some of the Great Scottish Courses.
I recommend a Warm up practice round on the Par 3 Course before you play the treat in front of you on the main Course. This is one of the best Par 3 courses I've ever seen (and I've played for 20 odd years).
The welcome you receive in the bar after your round is very warm and friendly. The only down point are the Bar prices, which seem a bit high.
Go find this wonderful place and judge for yourself.

A great location with long holes for big hitters. Shame about greens on some days, inconsistent and patchy, needs work. Nearest course to Augusta in Hertfordshire!!!

13th Par 3 176 a long par 3 always into the wind and a horrendous green which slopes all over, plus there is the added danger of a smattering of nice deep bunkers.
14th par 5 560, Get out the driver! A nice long hole for the big hitters to pull one back.
15th Par 4 393, trees come back into play but the fairway is wide so keep a cool head.
16th Par 4 376, the water doesn't look like it comes into play, well it shouldn't as long as you don't hit the left edge of the green.
17th Par 3 166, a tester up hill and depending on the tee & pin placement will determine whether the overhanging branches will come into play over the green.
18th Par 5 504, the fairway looks narrower than it actually is, created by the optical illusion of the looming pine trees.
Overall a good test of golf, play off the competition tees and it certainly is a test, many of the holes are made considerably harder. In all a further 365 yards is added.
