I have recently visited this course with my wife and experienced one of the most enjoyable golf days for a long while. From our arrival web were both made very welcome by the new club steward and his wife.
After a coffee and a bacon sandwich we enjoyed a round of golf in perfect surroundings. Even after all the rain of late the course was remarkably dry and we were able to putt on all the greens which were very true. The course proved an excellent test of golf and is well designed. I would unreservedly recommend a visit to this wonderful course.

From the moment of our arrival we were made to feel most welcome . Following a warming cup of coffee and a bacon sandwich delightfully prepared by the new steward,we took to the course . Bearing in mind the appalling weather of the last few months the course was in excellent condition. We were able to play on the greens which after months of play on temporaries at our home club was wonderful. The
greens although still damp putted amazingly true and were a real testament to the skill of an obviously very able greenkeeper. From tee to green I doubt whether there are many better presented courses in the UK.

Driving to the course is similar to Wentworth, and sets the anticipation for the day. The course is challenging but fair, with excellent fairway and greenside bunkering, the fairways are some of the most lushes I have played.
The 3 par 5's are all excellent, and the 10th probably should be a par 5!, not the best for a left hander that draws the ball.
It is easy to see why little Aston is in the top 100 UK courses, well worth the £50 for the day, even if you can't have chips in the spikes bar.
