  • Great course

I had the great pleasure of playing this course in August this year with 11 friends. What an absolute treat, its a real test of golf, none more so that the 2nd and 3rd holes, both tough par 3's. The condition of the course and especially the greens was amazing. Set around a beautiful Loch, it is a must visit on any trip to the borders. I will definitely be returning. One minor downside is the fact there is no pro shop there - a worthwhile investment in my opinion.

My number one course in Scotland. Beautiful surroundings, immaculate greens and fairways. Very friendly staff always made us welcome. Variety of challenging 18 holes. Will apply for membership when I retire to Scotland in a few years.

I'm sure he was only doing a round robin and didn't realise Lochmaben was a small club. Sounds too like he could be from overseas. Your response was both rude and ignorant and totally uncalled for. It will put a lot of people off coming to your club as they will think all members have your atitude.

Why the hell would a club like this have spare tickets for a match taking place in Detroit?? Were you born in a barn???

This course is a must if playing in the Dumfries area. A well maintained course with every hole bringing you a new challenge. If you like playing flat bland courses then give this one a miss! Both greens and fairways were well maintained and although it had rained non stop four 4 days prior to our arrival the course was still dry.

One of the best courses I have played. I used to be a member here until I had to move down to Middlesbrough a few years ago. The course is always well kept and can provide a stern challenge in windy conditions. But on a good calm day it is most enjoyable with pleasant surroundings and the clubhouse provides excellent food and beer.
