Lostwithiel Golf Hotel and Country Club facilities include 18 hole golf course, floodlit undercover driving range with grass bays, putting greens and practice bunkers. The spacious and individually designed bedrooms have been created from old Cornish buildings with their mellowed stone and beamed ceilings. All rooms are en-suite with private TV, tea and coffee making facilities.
Dine in style in our Black Prince restaurant where imaginative menus put the emphasis on fresh local produce. Two well-equipped conference rooms cater for venues between 20 and 150. Our leisure facilities include 2 all weather tennis courts and a superb indoor heated swimming pool.

Only a little over 3 hours from the M25, it is just off the A390 to St Austell with fast access from the A30.

The challenging front 9 rewards you with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, while the picturesque back 9 runs through leafy parkland, flanked by the silver waters of the River Fowey. Having just returned from Lostwithiel and having played the course 4 times in the last 5 days I felt I would submit this review whilst the memories were fresh. The challenge is total; the first four holes will take your breath away, almost literally as you are scaling the side of an impressive hill. In contrast when you descend to put out on the 8th you may be forgiven for thinking that you are now below sea level and why didn't you invite that nice Mr.Bonnington to be your caddie. When you stand on the 9th tee and glance up at hillside it is almost with a gulp that you realise that that is just where you were an hour previously attempting golf! From hereon in the sailing is much plainer. The ground is flat, the holes are well thought out and if you can avoid the burn which meanders through the 13th and 14th and navigate your way around the 14th's 3 tier green you will return a respectable score. Lostwithiel is well worth a visit and I can assure you it is a course that you will remember for a long time to come.

I have played this course on a number of occasions and it has always been in excellent condition and provides a solid challenge over its nine moorland-like and nine river valley parkland holes. The setting is spectacular and the signature hole, a 150 yd par 3 dropping over a hundred feet, provides stunning views to compensate for the knee-trembling target.
The hotel and practice facilities are excellent, staff are attentive but unobtrusive, certainly worth a visit for the excellent value breaks that are available in the off-season when it is very quiet. The village of Lostwithiel offers a good distraction and I would recommend the Royal Oak for good ales and fine food.
