A very well kept course set on the eastern side of the Lincolnshire Wolds with scenic views over the surrounding countryside. Set on a hill-side, there is good drainage meaning that the course is very rarely closed during wet weather and fairways and greens and kept in excellent condition.
Many blind shots due to inclines and undulating fairways and a few uneven lies, but no water, manageable rough and light density of trees. Good variety of holes with a lot of thought needed for tee and approach shots. One or two par fives are reachable in two for the tigers, depending on wind conditions. Greens will hold the ball well, yet putting can be 'pacey' and some difficult to read.
The locals say 'Everything falls to the Horncastle Road', so do some map reading first.
Well worth a visit with very reasonable green fees and catering. Very friendly atmosphere, in traditional clubhouse. Buggy or powered trolley is advisable for the less fit!
