Course Details

Course Name: Course 1 Holes: 18 Yardage: 6038 SSS: 70
Many a good score has been drowned in the River Sullane which comes into play from the 10th to the 14th holes. The 18th hole, with its 'out of bounds' on either side is a testing finish, but a good drive can set one up with a birdie chance.

I have played the course on both of my visit's to Macroom in 2000 and 2001. The course is scenic, challenging and fair. The water plays into a few holes and makes for a challenge. The greens and fairways are well cared for and manicured. I look forward to playing a few rounds again this March.

I played here in April 2000 and found the course to be exceptionally good. Quite hilly, but better for it, most of the holes are challenging but fair. The fairways, and especially the greens were in superb condition, which added greatly to the enjoyment of the course. Several holes on the back nine are marvellous, especially the ones involving the River Sullane. Inexpensive as well, this course is highly recommended.

The back nine are a joy to play. The river and the situation of the greens makes the player have to choose his club carefully. The greens are in tremendous shape and compliment the front nine which are no pushover.
