I am a member at Maywood Golf Club. About 3 years ago I held the course record a 74, which was held until last year. It is a difficult course with something to grab you on every hole, but what makes our club unique is the crack and the splendid atmosphere, thanks to JOHN FORRESTER our captain last year who was magnificent: and good luck to any body who comes to us, and drives narrow lane the 12th OOB on both sides of a narrow fair way, as PERKO said 'just close your eyes and hope.' Thanks.

12 is a short par 5 with a ditch within range during the summer and water down the left in driving range if you pull your shots. There are also trees to the left of the tee just to intimidate you.
14 is a long-par 4, which I have never parred, it has two ditches, ditch one is about ideal driving length and ditch two is for posers. The green has suffered over the winter, but it's still a challenge to reach the green for 3 and have a putt for par.
15 is a blind par 4 with out of bounds and trees down the right, with a good tee shot the flag is visible for your second shot.
16 is another hideous hole for those who don't like water. The green is reachable in 2 with a reasonable drive but the green has water on three sides and a bunker to the back (between green and water). Generally a good bet to ruin a half decent round.
17 has two ponds on it but is one of the simplest holes on the course, with a ditch down the entire right side for the careless or reckless.
18 is interesting it is a 90 degree dog leg, the corner can be cut with a 3 wood or driver but since the field you are crossing is OOB it can prove costly. T
The Captain's charity currently claims £1 per ball in the field (it's cost me £2 so far this season). The course changes character after a reasonable dry spell, chance would be a fine thing, and you have to bump and run because nothing stops on the greens. Hope that this of some use, cost to pay and play was reasonable and discounted further with a member. We have a new pro, but I can't remember his name yet.
