I let this course get to me to begin with, not a good idea. The outward 9 holes can be pretty challenging and you need to think carefully where you're going to place your ball from the tee. Buying a Strokesaver will be worthwhile, or you might end up in water on the par 4 fifth, as the ball will run a long why onwards water that you might not have realised was there. The inward nine has a lot of variety including the signature hole twelfth a shot downhill to a green half surrounded by water. You will hear bells on several holes as the greens are well out of site due to the contours and/or doglegs.
The seventeenth is a smashing hole and will probably leave most medium to high handicappers deciding to lay up rather than risk a shot onto the green over a large pond. The eighteenth is the easiest par 4 on the course SI is 18, but somehow I didn't play it too well. Don't lose concentration when you are so close to the inviting nineteenth.
Second time around I relaxed more and really enjoyed the surroundings and variety of the course, my score improved by over 11.

This is a fine course, testing for the experienced and low handicapped golfer but not too daunting for someone who doesn't get too many pars. The fairways are lush and there are some testing holes. I went on a Veterans Tour and all agreed that it was a challenging experience - but the buggy was necessary for some.
