Excellent value for money, friendly staff and overall nice course. For a
public course the green keepers do a top class job, the greens are as good
as some of the private courses I have played so top marks to the green
keepers. Some of the bunkers are like playing from cement but then again it
is a public course. I love playing hard courses and then going back to
Middleton as the course becomes so much shorter and easy to play (makes you
feel like a tour pro) but all in all Middleton is where I fell in love with
the game of golf and for that reason alone Middleton will always be one of
those places I will always go back to. The only gripe I have is the dress
code should be stepped up more, I have played many public courses where you
have to wear proper shoes, trousers or tailored shorts and a collar their is
nothing worse than seeing some people with Bermuda shorts and a vest.

This course offers excellent value for money-a round of golf for under a tenner-brilliant. The first four holes are pretty much similar-up and down alongside each other. Hole five is a dogleg right, while six is uphill and a slight dogleg left.
After hole six the course tends to open up, with big wide fairways with hole eight the only par five on the course.
The back nine are shorter than the first nine, with more par threes, but each hole representing something slightly different. Hole fifteen is a fair climb and sixteen is a par three through the trees. The last hole is near the main road (certainly not for slicers!).
Overall a fairly good course, my only gripe is that the holes are not signposted enough (we got lost walking to the sixteenth!!). RATING 73%

Middleton Golf Course is not amongst the best golf courses in Yorkshire, but offers tremendous value for money. Weekdays is around £7.50 and weekends around £9.00.
The first 6 holes are fairly easy and are not particularly brilliant, however, when you walk through a parkway to the 7th hole the course completely changes. Long sweeping undulating fairways with completely different grass, which is much softer and easier on the feet. The course is fairly hilly, and the 15th will take it out of the fittest of golfers. The best green is the 9th, which is kept in excellent condition and well guarded with two frustrating placed bunkers at the front.
There are some short Par 4's and anybody with a handicap of less than 24 always has a chance of making a birdie with some good tee shots. Big hitters may have a chance of an Eagle with a long drive on the 8th and a 4 to 5 iron to the green - I birdied this twice and missed an 8 footer for Eagle!
The course is well worth a visit, I have played often and had much enjoyment. The staff are friendly, and the course doesn't tend to clog up.
Considering this is a municipal owned by Leeds City Council, overall I can recommend this course particularly for those golfers looking to improve their game - the course offers enough features to help beginners learn the skills required in most rounds of golf without losing too many golf balls!
    Happy Golfing
