The greens are the best greens around the midlands i have played in the winter lets hope they stay the same for the summer.

I have played this course twice. They were both in competitions, one 18 hole comp and the other a 36 hole comp. In the 36 hole comp, I played with Stuart Lockwood in a foursomes. The course was very nice both times but unfortunately, I didn't play to how I normally play. But anyway, the course is very nice and I hope I play it again in the near future. My handicap is 15 and I am 15 years old playing at Tolladine Golf Club, Worcester.

One of the toughest starts of any course I have ever played believe it or not. The reason is the severe slopes on the greens which dominate the first 6 holes and make what, on the card appears less than daunting, into a difficult test.
The opening hole is an iron off the tee and a short pitch but, particularly in summer, you must get below the hole or will be faced with a nightmarish approach putt that can easily run 10-15 feet beyond the hole.
The second is an uphill par 4 of about 370 yards which is very tight from the tee due to a long fairway bunker on your left and trees which can easily block you out on the right. My strategy here was to aim at the bunker and try and fade it back - if it did not move in the air the bunker is fairly flat and you can at least move it up the fairway within chipping distance of the green - which is again severely sloping.
The third is a monstrous par 4 of 473 yards which while generous from the tee it is easy to get blocked out by going too far left and which gets quite tight as you near the green.
The fourth is a long dropping 210 yard par 3 which normally requires at least a 2 or 3 iron - anything left is the safe side.
The fifth is stroke index 1 on the course a sharply doglegging 450 yard par 4 which requires a draw from the tee, across the enormous pond, if you are to get home. Even then you are faced with a long iron or wood second shot from a downhill lie to a heavily bunkered green.
The sixth is a lovely dropping par 3 with a heavily sloping green - anything missed on the side of the flag is a dropped shot unless you make a long putt.
All of this makes the first nine a really tough challenge although it does slacken off a bit after this and gets quite flat and a little easier from here-on in. Most of the members start from the 10th - say no more!!!!!
