Mountbellew Golf Course is a superb 18 hole course. Redsigned by Ken Kearney Golf Design and built by Dar Golf , it is a challenge for all handicaps. The change in this course has been significant and well worth a trip.

This is a delightful parkland course with lots of trick spots for astray shots to nestle in. no. 1 is a great little par 3 to challenge the best of golfers. Great experience.

A lovingly well kept village course that was a pleasure to play. Nine holes, 18 tees and a delight. Highly recommended.

It is a lovely little country course, the members are very friendly, and are happy to pair up with you on the first tee. I met one one day and suggested we play a match over 9 holes. 'Alright, I don't mind,' he replied and stepped up to the first tee, a tricky par three. He
proceeded to play a hole in one, and without passing any remarks at all, he marched off to the second tee. I battled all the way, but I never got back that one hole disadvantage and lost the match on the ninth green. There are some great characters there, including one committee member, who shall remain nameless. He refused to move his ball for me when I was chipping onto the green. They don't like slow play I suppose, you are expected to get on with it and not make a fuss:-) The course has much improved in recent years.

I am currently a member of the club and think it is a lovely parkland course. On paper it is easy but when you play Mountbellew it is a different story. With a quarry on the 7th and 9th to contend with , it really is a gem. The Clubhouse has a buzzing atmosphere and visitors are treated like royalty. Mountbellew golf course is definitely the place to 'hit' if you are in the area!!!!

I last played on this course 44 years ago,as a member, and am really looking forward to playing the redesigned course in Sept/Oct 2011.I hope all the rough in front of the second tee is gone.I have some funny memories of the quarry (7,9) trying to play a ball out.
