To attempt that yourself you need to carry your tee shot over some very tall trees (taller than when Jacklin played his shot) and you're in trouble if you miss. This should be an easy hole to play but I've seen many a front nine ruined by this starter on the way back in! No. 16 (On The Oak) - A par 3 which I haven't yet decided if I like or not. It is extraordinarily difficult to land your tee-shot onto the green without watching the ball roll off the back. When you do it though it certainly feels good. No. 17 (Pin Blind) - This hole does me every time. A 485 yard par 5 with a very narrow approach, an even narrower green and a blind shot to the pin. Some people have little trouble with it.... not me though, I hate and fear the thing. All in all a good municipal course which nobody could surely complain about paying about £8 to play on. Those looking to play a round here should note that as of January 1999 the name of the course has been changed to 'Keele Golf Course' and may appear under that name in future listings.
I would like to include that I am a dedicated 20-28 handicapper, with my scores fluctuating wildly from time to time!!
