It was last week when i stood on the tee at north middlesex and the first hole was very inviting with a wide fairway in decent condition. as i progressed my round i found the holes became more chalenging as the fairways decreased in size and more bunkers appeared ready and waiting to swallow your ball. the course plays fairly long and there are some really nice holes espeacilly on the back 9. there was only one bad point really and that was we waited quite a while for the club pro to appear to sign us in. but overall it's a lovely course that i will play again and again that i would recommend to anyone that enjoys the beatiful game of golf.

As you drive through congested Finchley and North London, you wonder where there could possibly be space amongst the houses and estates for a golf course...and yet, miraculously. There is. North Middlesex is very enjoyable and well maintained golf course that presents different challenges every time it is played, but doesn't get you down if you didn't bring your game with you. The greens are positively schizophrenic...one week they seem tame and friendly, sending the ball where you'd expect, but the next week they're just about impossible, your ball finding lines you wouldn't see given as much time as you wanted. Its not a long course, and some greens and fairways are used (unintentionally) by golfers of several holes at the same time, making golfing insurance and a hard hat quite important additions to keep in your bag. But it's a pretty course, with most everything a golf course should have, and it'll keep you coming back. The members are a fine and friendly bunch, and they genuinely seem to enjoy visitors playing their course.
Finally, for the urban course it is, there is a surprising amount of wildlife. Moorhens, Canada geese and ducks which have more faith in your ability to get over the water than you do, and woodpeckers, crows, chaffinches and thousands of squirrels abound. Last time we played a crow moved my partner's ball 3 feet away from its landing spot. Wonder what the rules were on that?

A picturesque course set in suburbia but a true test of your ability with the finesse of golf. Each hole requires you to place your drive in the right position to approach the green where green side bunkers await the wayward shot. This is a course for the golfer who likes a challenge to his putting ability where every green has undulations that would make it difficult even for Tiger u know who!!
I always enjoy playing the course as a visitor and a drink at the 19th with a very friendly group of members

The course was a great test of golf, it was short but you had to keep the ball arrow straight.Tthe greens were top quality, 8/10, drinks were cheap too. There was this member called Jim who I saw smack a drive onto the 320 yd 15th and Rakesh who holed out from 200 yds so exciting golf goes on there.
